BUY MY BOOKS ON BASEBALL5

When I’m not coaching Baseball5, developing drills for Baseball5 or creating Baseball5 content, I write books about Baseball5 and Baseball5 Statestics. I love data and statistics, which Is why I enjoy to write about data-based strategies in Baseball5.

I’m not trying to get rich from writing these books. My motivation for writing the books are mainly because I enjoy doing it and because I don’t believe in keeping my work to myself, since sharing it can benefit the entire Baseball5 community.

A RUNNER ON 2B IS NOT IN SCORING POSITION… …AND WHY YOU SHOULD CARE

This is my “debut book” and it’s essentially where my interest for data-based strategy first sprung. I had a suspicion that one aspect of the game was misunderstood, I tested and researched it with real life games, and came to the conclusion that the perceived value of having a runner on second base was grossly overvalued by coaches in Baseball5. The book is not only about that realization – it’s a book about generally re-thinking the sport of Baseball5 in the sense that coaches shouldn’t assume that whatever works in traditional Baseball and Softball will also work in Baseball5. The dynamics are completely different and we need to treat it as such. In the book I also present Idas for re-thinking different aspects of the game.

WHO’S UP?: THE ART OF CREATING AN EFFECTIVE LINEUP IN BASEBALL5

My second book is a deep dive into one of the subjects I mentioned briefly in “A RUNNER ON 2B IS NOT IN SCORING POSITION…” namely: The hitting order / Lineup. With a complete dataset of play-by-play’s from the 2023 European Championship I managed to model the statistical occurrences of the differen 24 “Base/out-states” for each of the different positions in the lineup. Meaning that when you read this book, you will get an extensive insight into what the different hitters in the lineup experience more of compared to each other. The Leadoff doesn’t see the same situations during a game of Baseball5 as the fifth hitter – we all know this intuitively: But what do the individual positions in the lineup actually encounter the most and what influence does that have on who should hit where in the order? Read about it in my book

ROUND IT! – DATADRIVEN BASEBALL5 BASERUNNING: A DEEP DIVE INTO THE DATA BEHIND BASERUNNING IN BASEBALL5

My third book is a deep dive into baserunning in Baseball5 – and more specifically about aggressiveness and risk-reward analysis. There are some in depth probability calculations in this book that might be a bit too theoretical for practical use, but I do also provide hands on value by presenting rule of thumbs and the 80/50/20-rule, which are more pragmatic tools and models that can be used during a game. A portion of the book also addresses some of the criticism I received from people who read my frist book “A Runner on 2B…”. Some points of critique was that I didn’t calculate Run Expectancy with Baseball5 game data. In this book I have included Run Expectancy with data from 12.000 at bats to finally conclude that a runner on2B is not in scoring position.

DRILLS FOR STARTING A NEW BASEBALL5 TEAM – 32 FUN & ENGAGING BASEBALL5 DRILLS & MINI-GAMES FOR YOUR NEWLY FORMED TEAM

The fourth book is a thing on its own. When I started up my own club in Ebeltoft back in 2025, I found myself always having to come up with drills on the spot, because I never knew how many people would should up for practice. I imagined that it would be the same challenge for other coaches wanting to build up a team from scratch; that you don’t have a full team from day one. So I decided to write down the drills that I developed for my teams practices – simply to make an index of what drills and mini-games we could do during a practice in the different settings of either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 people showed up for practice. The book contains 32 drills and mini games that are both fun and engaging but also have great athletic value and many of the drills are also used for the Danish National Team Program.

The book is free as the eBook version & the paperback is available on amazon

(I like having the paperback in my coaching bag because the book has an index sorted by the number of players at practice, meaning that when I show up for a practice session and find out that we are only 5 people, and I prepared for 13 people, then I just look in the index what drills we can do with only 5 people)
